Artist's Statement: "Arabic script has had a significant and lifelong influence on my art practice. The concept of classical Arabic script is such that each and every word remains constant and its symbolism and spirituality are timeless. My recent exploration of abstract expressionist paintings, in particular the work of Jackson Pollock, has led me to re-examine the purity and synthesis of this form of visual writing. I am searching for a new means of expression using a wide range of media, developed from drawing technique and strategies. Communicating a sense of spirituality and constancy underpins my art practice."
